How Casino House Group researches online casinos, assigns editorial scores, and keeps player ratings separate. This methodology applies to every casino review on our platform.

1. Overview

Each casino receives an Editor Score from 0 to 10, calculated by our review team using the weighted criteria below. Player Ratings are independent: they reflect approved community votes on each review page, optionally combined with an imported baseline. Editorial scores never incorporate affiliate revenue, advertising deals, or paid placement.

2. Research process

  1. Desk research — licence registers, operator terms, game provider lists, and public complaint data.
  2. Hands-on testing — account registration (where legally permitted), bonus verification, cashier review, mobile UX, and customer support contact.
  3. Documentation — screenshots of key flows (homepage, promotions, cashier, responsible gambling tools) stored with each review.
  4. Editorial scoring — weighted rubric applied by a named reviewer or the Editorial Team.
  5. Quality check — second editor validates scores, facts, and disclosures before publication.
  6. Ongoing monitoring — scheduled re-review and triggered updates when operators change terms or licensing.

3. Scoring criteria and weights

Editor scores are derived from eight pillars. Weights reflect player impact and regulatory importance:

Scores are rounded to one decimal place. A casino scoring 9.0+ is considered excellent; 7.0–8.9 strong; 5.0–6.9 average; below 5.0 weak in key areas.

4. Player rating methodology

Player ratings use a 0–10 scale and are displayed separately from editor scores. Approved player reviews submitted on each casino page update the community average. We may seed an initial baseline from historical data, but on-site votes always take precedence over time. Player reviews require moderation; spam and undisclosed promotional content are rejected.

5. What we do not do

  • We do not sell higher rankings or editorial scores.
  • We do not let affiliate managers preview or approve scores before publication.
  • We do not remove negative findings in exchange for commercial agreements.
  • We do not mix paid advertorial content into review verdicts without clear labelling.

6. Update cadence

  • Full re-review: at least every 12 months, or sooner if licensing or ownership changes.
  • Bonus refresh: when welcome offers change materially (typically quarterly check).
  • Payment update: when new methods are added or withdrawal times shift.
  • Emergency update: within 72 hours if a licence is revoked or a regulator issues a public warning.

Every published review includes a testing summary showing which checks were completed, such as:
