The American Gaming Association has strengthened its commitment to safer gambling by introducing the Play Smart Consumer Hub. This innovative online resource aims to promote the core message: Play Smart from the Start, providing players with the tools and information they need to make informed gambling decisions.

New AGA initiative wants to empower consumers

The core objective of this initiative is to develop a resource that is continuously enhanced and accessible to anyone interested. The platform aims to promote key principles such as Right State of Mind, Know the Game, and Act Intentionally. These include best practices for responsible gaming, like understanding the rules and odds, being aware of personal limits, setting a budget, and taking regular breaks. Bill Miller, CEO and President of AGA, commented on the launch of this new initiative: The excitement of gaming comes from the fact that everyone has their own style of play, but regardless of how or where you play, maintaining control begins with habits tailored to you. The Play Smart Consumer Hub offers players clear and practical tools to help them stay in control and keep gaming enjoyable. The Play Smart Consumer Hub aims to consistently remind players of these best practices while allowing them to make their own choices to engage in healthy behavior. AGA's focus is not on overly analyzing individual gambling habits, but on encouraging sustainable play.

The platform offers additional features like the Pre-Play Checklist and the Responsible Gaming IQ Quiz to help you refine details further. A significant benefit is the easy access to the National Problem Gambling Helpline (1-800-GAMBLER), which also includes state-specific self-exclusion programs. Additionally, the platform includes the Industry Toolkit, tailored for operators and stakeholders, enabling the implementation of effective messaging strategies and other pillars of responsible play to enhance industry safety.
