AGCO targets Toronto-area land-based casinos anew
AGCO reported that there were four incidents where minors were allegedly permitted to enter casino floors, and some of these minors were also allowed to gamble. These violations occurred at the Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto, which had two incidents, and one incident each took place at Casino Ajax and Pickering Casino Resort, as per an official press release by the regulator. Dr. Karin Schnarr, the CEO and Registrar of AGCO, commented on the situation, stating:
Not Toronto’s casinos' first regulatory run-in
The Great Canadian Casino Resort Toronto was previously penalized with a CA$120,000 fine by regulators in April. The fine was imposed because the casino allegedly failed to identify a cheating incident involving two transactions and two customers. In the most recent enforcement action, the casino was fined CA$51,000, while the other two properties involved were each fined CA$50,000.
