A lucky lottery player from Howrah, Tasmania, Australia, almost handed his winning ticket to a friend. He ended up claiming one of the top prizes from the Live the Life ticket.
Scratch-off ticket brings AU$10K a month for 24 months
The incredibly lucky man, who usually doesn't buy scratch-off tickets, shared his story with an official from The Lott. A resident of the Apple Isle, he recently won AU$5 from a lottery ticket. Just as the cashier was about to pay out his winnings, he decided to try his luck with a scratch-off game. He chose the Live the Life ticket and scratched it off while walking along the beach. Recalling the moment of his big win, he said the prize appeared on the first line, leaving him utterly astonished. That AU$5 ticket ultimately brought the man from Howrah a delightful AU$10,000 per month for the next two years, totaling AU$240,000. Remarkably, the winner, who defied odds of 1 in 750,000 to claim the top prize, confessed he almost gave away his ticket. Funnily enough, I nearly gifted it to a friend! I’m sure this friend would’ve given me half, but isn’t that crazy, he said. We’re thrilled, to say the least! Thank you so much, and now we can use it for upcoming travels!
