The leading gaming and entertainment company, operating a diverse portfolio of venues across the United States, Boyd Gaming Corporation, announced its plans to sell one of its properties. Earlier in the week, the company confirmed it entered into a definitive agreement to sell Sam's Town Hotel & Casino in Shreveport, Louisiana, to Bally's Corporation.

The sale of the asset complements Boyd Gaming's future strategy

A press release confirming the acquisition reveals that the transaction is expected to be completed later this year. Not unexpectedly, Bally's Corporation's takeover of Sam's Town Shreveport is subject to the receipt of the relevant regulatory approvals and satisfaction of customary closing conditions. While Boyd Gaming confirmed it has entered into a definitive agreement to sell its Shreveport property, financial transactions were not made public. Per the announcement, the acquisition is planned to close in the third quarter of 2026. Keith Smith, Boyd Gaming's President and Chief Executive Officer, highlighted that the sale of Sam's Town Shreveport complements the company's ongoing refinement of its operating model. Sam's Town Shreveport has been a part of our Company since 2004, and we appreciate all of the contributions of its team members, past and present, in providing great service to our guests throughout the last two decades, Smith added.

Bally's has significant experience in Shreveport and plans to continue to grow

Sam's Town Shreveport is located next to Bally's Shreveport Casino & Hotel in downtown Shreveport. The property features a 29,000-square-foot casino offering 14 table games, as well as 750 slots. In addition to the casino floor, Sam's Town Shreveport has a hotel with 514 rooms, a range of restaurants, convention and meeting space and a live entertainment venue.
