  • A single division one winning ticket scored the jackpot from Oz Lotto's draw 1655 on November 4, 2025
  • The winner, a Newtown man, took the entire jackpot of AU$20m
  • The fortunate lottery player kept the ticket in a drawer for two weeks

An incredibly lucky New South Wales lottery player nearly missed a life-changing jackpot after keeping his winning ticket in a drawer for two weeks. Earlier this week, TheLott confirmed that the fortunate winner finally checked in to claim his big lottery prize from a recent Oz Lotto draw.

Single division one winning entry takes down Oz Lotto's jackpot on November 4

The lucky man purchased his ticket at Broadway Newsagency, Shop G2, Broadway Shopping Centre on 1 Bay Street in Broadway. Although the player was new to Oz Lotto and this was in fact the first ticket he purchased for the game, he scored the game's top prize from drawing 1655 on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Holding the single division one winning entry, the winner will enjoy the entire AU$20m ($12.9m) jackpot by himself. The winning numbers from that particular drawing were 21, 17, 43, 25, 12, 18 and 14, while supplementary numbers were 15, 42 and 24. Interestingly, the shop in question, where the jackpot winning ticket was purchased, has seen a range of top-tier lottery prize wins.

"I thought I'd just get one for Oz Lotto too – something I've never done before"

While one lucky winner on the other side of the globe kept a winning ticket in car for week, the fortunate Newtown man who scored the Oz Lotto jackpot also learned with a delay that he won big after placing the winning ticket in a drawer for a fortnight. The lucky New South Wales player admitted to an official from The Lott that he kept the ticket in a drawer and forgot to check it before this week. I forgot to check this ticket and only remembered today. I had it kept in a drawer and forgot all about it, the man said, admitting that he is still in shock considering the AU$20m ($12.9m) windfall. You’re going to give me a heart attack! Oh my god, the Newtown man exclaimed. Besides the delayed win, there was another peculiar fact about the lucky man's jackpot hit. While he was a frequent lottery player, the Newtown man said that he usually played Powerball. However, several weeks ago, he decided to buy an extra ticket along with his Powerball ticket and saw Oz Lotto. I thought I'd just get one for Oz Lotto too – something I've never done before, the fortunate man said. Realizing that he had won big, the lottery winner is now looking forward to making significant life improvements. First thing I’m going to do is buy myself a house, and I’ve been thinking about retirement, but wasn’t sure how that was going to be possible, the winner outlined, stressing that it is still hard to believe what life-changing jackpot he had won.
