An incredibly lucky woman is finally planning her retirement and a vacation after winning a life-changing jackpot. That's the story of one Mackay, Queensland, Australia woman, who scored a multi-million-dollar prize on Saturday.
Saturday Gold Lotto produces two division one winning entries
The fortunate player entered Saturday Gold Lotto's draw 4685 on June 13, 2026. She purchased her 50-game QuickPick entry via The Lott's official website. The winning numbers in that draw were 16, 31, 43, 12, 40 and 30, while supplementary numbers were 25 and 26. Surprisingly, the woman's entry was one out of two division one winning entries, each entitled to a life-changing AU$3,127,800.49 ($2.2m) prize. Besides winning entry of the woman from Queensland, there was another entry from Victoria. As is the case for large lottery prizes, the Mackay woman's identity wasn't publicly revealed, so her identity may forever remain a mystery.
The winner hasn't been on holiday for 10+ years
An official from The Lott contacted the fortunate Queensland resident on Monday morning to give her the good news. Interestingly, the winner was completely oblivious about the life-changing prize she scored and admitted that she was at work. You are joking! Do you know how long Iβve wanted to retire? Iβm in my 70s and Iβve been working since I was young, the lucky woman said. The winner admitted that she often visualized winning such a life-changing prize and even last weekend, she thought Wouldn't that be nice?, after seeing a Saturday Gold Lotto poster. The Mackay woman added that it has been more than 10 years since she was last on holiday, which is why she is now planning to treat herself. This means so much to me. I always read the winner stories on the website, and I just think, βIsnβt that amazing?β. Now Iβll see my own story, the fortunate player added. She said that she still cannot believe she can finally retire after working for more than 60 years. In the end, the woman deemed the lottery windfall wonderful news and thanked the lottery official.
