The donors of the ICE Barcelona ’25 Sustainable Gambling Zone have successfully contributed to the launch of the first industry-led educational initiative in Catalonia that is aimed at helping prevent behavioral addiction and digital dependency in adolescents, Clarion Gaming said in a press statement. The initiative reunited a number of companies, among which were Cirsa, Acordjoc, Grupo Orenes, Novomatic Spain, Novomatic Group, Betsson Group, and ALEA, who have all contributed to what they have deemed a worthwhile cause. The campaign was launched in the native Catalan language. Called Proyecto FES, the initiative is developed by the non-profit Plataforma del Juego Sostenible, aimed at raising awareness of the risks associated with digital media and targeting schools and families with guidance and tools to help address these issues. Funded by donations from the Sustainable Gaming Zone sponsors, the program has secured participation from Pedro Garcia, a prominent Spanish TV personality, who is also Proyecto FES Ambassador. Garcia addressed a group of 70 educators, school owners, and principals in a bid to help educate young people on the healthy use of social media and the Internet, both of which have become increasingly serious issues. Commenting on the latest initiative, Clarion Gaming’s Director of Industry Insight and Engagement, Ewa Bakun, said: The Proyecto FES is another example of the outstanding work that ICE SGZ supporters are helping to fund. Since 2019, sponsors have raised a total of£325,000in the process, furthering the progressive work of organisations that share the core vision of creating a sustainable industry. The SGZ at ICEBarcelona ’26 will once again be one of the highest profile features on the show floor, and our objective is to continue to promote and, through our donation program, help to fund hugely important initiatives such as the Proyecto FES.
