Jason Birney has become part of the Cordish Gaming Group team.

Cordish Gaming Group, part of The Cordish Companies, recently strengthened its senior team by appointing a new leader. This week, the company announced the hiring of veteran executive Jason Birney as the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia.

Joining the C-suite at Live! Casino and Hotel Philadelphia, known for its world-class gaming, entertainment, and dining, Birney will manage daily operations. As EVP and General Manager, he will oversee the property's gaming, hotel, and food and beverage offerings, while also being responsible for marketing and enhancing guest experiences. His ultimate aim is to ensure that the casino and hotel continue to deliver outstanding guest experiences and maintain its status as an award-winning destination. Before joining Cordish Gaming Group, Birney gained over 20 years of experience in the gaming industry. Prior to his current role, he served as Head of Interactive Operations at Penn Entertainment, where he managed ESPN Bet, formerly Barstool Sportsbook, and oversaw Hollywood Casino and The Score products. Birney's strong background in casino development, operations, marketing, and player engagement makes him an ideal fit for Cordish Gaming Group. His career began at Caesars Entertainment in Atlantic City, New Jersey, where he held various marketing roles for properties like Harrah’s Philadelphia and both Harrah’s and Showboat in Atlantic City. In 2018, he was recognized on the Emerging Leaders of Gaming 40 Under 40 list by Global Gaming Business Magazine.
