The fortunate player spoke to an official from the North Carolina Education Lottery and explained that she had always told herself that she would win the jackpot from Cash 5 someday. Interestingly, it was the player’s choice to incorporate a strategy of selecting random numbers that would end up winning her the top prize. I picked my numbers by just closing my eyes and pointing at them. It was my first time trying that, the Cedar Grove woman admitted. Realizing that she had just won the jackpot from Cash 5, the winner said that she started to stutter. Then I went on the porch and I was screaming and shouting, the fortunate woman said, recalling the moment of the big win. While the thought of winning the life-changing jackpot is already sinking in, the woman added that it still seems surreal. The incredibly lucky player beat the odds of 1 in 962,598 to take down the Cash 5 jackpot. She admitted that she intends to pay some bills with the unexpected windfall. The woman claimed her jackpot prize earlier this week at the Lottery’s headquarters in Raleigh and after the relevant taxes saw her bank account increase by nearly $153,000.
