The timing is just right. Earlier this week, the Melbourne resident traveled to the Lottery headquarters in Tallahassee. He opted to receive his prize as a one-time cash payment of $640,000. The latest Gold Rush Legacy winner has not disclosed any plans for his unexpected fortune.

The $20 Gold Rush Legacy scratch-off game was introduced in April of last year. Out of the original four $10 million top prizes, two are still available in this popular game. The odds of winning a top prize are 1 in 15,042,825. For a tier-two prize, which awards $1 million, a Melbourne resident took a chance on his lucky day, despite the odds being 1 in 3,008,565. Following the most recent tier-two win of $1 million, 10 more of these prizes remain.
