A fortunate dad who had won a five-figure lottery prize in April once again triumphed as the winner of another hefty lottery win. Thatβs the story of a Gaithersburg dad, who chose the alias Carlos and won a sweet $50,000 from the Maryland Lotteryβs $20 scratch-off ticket, $50,000 Cash.
$20 scratch off ticket brings $50,000 prize
The incredibly lucky man tried his luck back in April, purchasing a $20 ticket for Lucky 777. To his surprise, the $20 ticket he purchased at the Shell station at 501 Quince Orchard Road in Gaithersburg turned out to be a $50,000 winner. While the lucky player claimed his lottery windfall, he didnβt stop playing. This time, he tried his luck with the $50,000 Cash game, purchasing a ticket from Lakeside Beer Wine at 9621 Lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg. After scratching off the ticket, Carlos was in disbelief, seeing that two weeks after his $50,000 win, he scored $50,000 once again. In an interview with an official with the Maryland Lottery, the winner said that after scratching off the ticket, he saw the autowin sign on top of a $50,000 prize. Recalling the moment, Carlos said that he asked himself if this was true, admitting it was difficult to believe that he had just won another $50,000 prize.
The lucky player hopes he will win another large prize
The Montgomery County resident visited the Lottery headquarters earlier this week to claim his second windfall. Interestingly, Carlos arrived with the same Lottery T-shirt he was gifted two weeks earlier when claiming his first $50,000 win. You had me in here two weeks ago, the lucky dad said. While winning his second life-enhancing lottery prize, Carlos said he will continue to play. Iβm hoping to come back next for the $2 million, the Montgomery County man added. Asked about his plans for the second $50,000 lottery windfall, the winner said that he will once again invest his winnings. Each $50,000 Cash game ticket grants players a chance to win a prize between $20 and $50,000. After the Maryland Lottery launched the game late in December 2022, there were 160 top prizes of $50,000 each. Currently, 54 top prizes of $50,000 remain in play from the popular scratch-off game. The overall odds of winning any prize from the $50,000 Cash ticket are 1 in 3.03.
