During an interview with a Michigan Lottery official, he explained, Every Sunday morning, I return cans and use the money to buy lottery tickets. Sticking to this ritual, the man from Livingston County purchased his weekend tickets and left them in his car’s glove box while he ran errands. It wasn't until after dinner, as he sat down to scratch the tickets, that he realized just how lucky he was. He uncovered the $500,000 top prize from the Stampede Payout ticket. When I saw I'd won $500,000, I started yelling and jumping up and down, he recalled of the moment he won. He also noted, I tried to scan the ticket on the app afterward, but my hands were shaking so much that I couldn’t get it to scan until later. Winning such a sum, he confessed, was an amazing feeling, finally granting him financial freedom. At the Lottery headquarters, where he claimed his prize, he shared plans to pay off his house, take a vacation, and enjoy dinners out with friends.
