The lucky winner, opting to stay anonymous, bought his ticket at the CVS on Pontiac Trail in South Lyon. Interestingly, he shared that a particular Sunday routine played a role in his new fortune. During an interview with a Michigan Lottery official, he explained, Every Sunday morning, I return cans and use the money to buy lottery tickets. Sticking to this ritual, the man from Livingston County purchased his weekend tickets and left them in his car’s glove box while he ran errands. It wasn't until after dinner, as he sat down to scratch the tickets, that he realized just how lucky he was. He uncovered the $500,000 top prize from the Stampede Payout ticket. When I saw I'd won $500,000, I started yelling and jumping up and down, he recalled of the moment he won. He also noted, I tried to scan the ticket on the app afterward, but my hands were shaking so much that I couldn’t get it to scan until later. Winning such a sum, he confessed, was an amazing feeling, finally granting him financial freedom. At the Lottery headquarters, where he claimed his prize, he shared plans to pay off his house, take a vacation, and enjoy dinners out with friends.

Lottery players in Michigan have the chance to win various prizes through Stampede Payout.

In August, the Michigan Lottery launched the Stampede Payout ticket. A man from Livingston County made headlines by winning the first top prize of $500,000 from this $5 game. There are still two top prizes up for grabs with this ticket. Additionally, the Stampede Payout offers a $2,000 second-tier prize, with seven out of ten prizes still available. For smaller winnings, the $5 ticket offers prizes between $500 and $5. The overall odds of winning a prize in this game are 1 in 4.04.
