Under a newly extended contract, Brightstar Lottery will enhance the Oregon Lottery over the next five years with its top-tier retail technology.
The Oregon Lottery overhauls its retail operations
Earlier this week, it was announced that Brightstar Global Solutions Corporation, a subsidiary, secured a five-year contract extension with the Oregon Lottery. With this agreement, Brightstar Lottery will continue to support the operator’s retail offerings through May 2031. The Oregon Lottery plans to enhance its capabilities by utilizing Brightstar Lottery's advanced retail technology. As part of the contract extension, Brightstar will upgrade the central system of the lottery operator with high-performance components. Additionally, the Oregon Lottery will adopt Brightstar's retail solutions, including 2,200 units of the latest point-of-sale digital signage solution, SignaLink. This innovative system provides several benefits, such as centralized content management, real-time jackpot updates, and retailer-specific messaging. Alongside SignaLink, the Oregon Lottery will gain from 1,000 Retailer Pro S2 terminals, which have already demonstrated their reliability and efficiency. Equipped with high-performance processes for seamless transaction resolution, these terminals also support multiple player-facing displays and various peripheral devices, making them a premier upgrade for retail environments.
The extension highlights the longstanding successful partnership between the duo
Scott Gunn, Chief Operating Officer of North America Lottery at Brightstar, expressed his thoughts in a statement. Brightstar's contract extension with the Oregon Lottery showcases our mutual dedication to innovation and providing lasting value for Oregon's residents, he noted. Gunn emphasized the importance of their enduring partnership with Oregon and their commitment to delivering meaningful benefits for the Lottery, its retailers, and players. Mike Wells, Director of the Oregon Lottery, shared the enthusiasm, highlighting the growing strength of their collaboration over the decades. With this extension alongside Brightstar, and the implementation of upgraded central system features and modern hardware, we are creating a smarter, more responsive ecosystem that supports retailers, engages players, and ensures sustainable returns for Oregon, Wells concluded. Recently, Brightstar Lottery announced changes in its executive team, promoting Marco Tasso to Executive Vice President and CEO, Global Lottery, while Renato Ascoli plans to depart.
