Set against the thrilling backdrop of Sporting CP's iconic Estádio José Alvalade, this opener marks the start of an annual tradition lasting through 2030. Kicking off on Monday, September 15, 2025, this much-anticipated match will bring together two iconic squads: the Portugal Legends and the World Legends. Our goal is ambitious: to raise €1 million for charity, with the clash under the floodlights beginning precisely at 20:00. The excitement begins with a pre-game show at 19:40. During halftime, the electrifying sounds of Calema will keep spirits high and hearts pounding. Leading the charge for the Portugal Legends is none other than Luís Figo, eager for a homecoming packed with meaning. He shared, Returning to play in my homeland is always a joy! I can’t wait to see the fans in Lisbon fill the stadium for such a wonderful cause. Figo will be joined by legends Ricardo Quaresma, Nani, and several other celebrated stars—Eliseu, Bruno Alves, Ricardo Carvalho, Fábio Coentrão, Maniche, Pauleta, Vítor Baía, José Bosingwa, Deco, along with key figures like Beto, Jorge Andrade, Dani, Tiago Mendes, Simão, Hélder Postiga, and Nuno Gomes; all under the guidance of Constinha as manager. For Nuno Gomes, representing Portugal holds deep meaning. He remarked, Playing for my country comes with immense pride and responsibility, and this Legends Match is no exception. Giving back has always been close to my heart. Ready to challenge them, the World Legends line up with their own constellation of stars: Kaká, Peter Schmeichel managing the team, Petr Cech, Edwin van der Sar, and a host of others including Rene Higuita, Carles Puyol, Roberto Carlos, John Terry, Cafu, Javier Zanetti, Marco Materazzi, Gheorghe Hagi, Youri Djorkaeff, Christian Karembeu, Krasimir Balakov, Gaizka Mendieta, Marek Hamsik, Javier Saviola, Michael Owen, Henrik Larsson, Alessandro Del Piero, and Hristo Stoichkov. Prepare for an evening where legends meet, soccer magic unfolds, and hearts unite for a cause bigger than the game itself.
