VGCCC appoints new CEO to lead the regulator
With ongoing debates over issues such as taxation and the availability of slot machines nationwide, regulators are working diligently to implement consumer-focused measures that protect players. The VGCCC has appointed Suzy Neilan, a seasoned leader with over 20 years of senior executive experience in both the private and public sectors. Neilan joins from the Environment Protection Authority Victoria (EPA), where she served for three and a half years. Chris O’Neill, the VGCCC Chair, expressed enthusiasm for Neilan's appointment, highlighting the potential benefits her expertise and proven track record bring. O’Neill commented:
A well-seasoned public and private-sector leader
Neilan is set to become the head of the VGCCC on April 1, 2025, providing her with ample time to acclimate to her new role and lead initiatives focused on consumer welfare. Her previous experience includes various positions within organizations such as the Victorian Building Authority, Tenix Solutions’ Infringement Management Enforcement Services, and the Department of Justice. This background uniquely equips her to navigate the complexities of gaming regulation and emphasize the importance of a strong regulatory framework.
