BetBlocker expands support service reach in Slovakia with localized translation

BetBlocker, a charity that allows players from all over the world to self-exclude from gambling and receive assistance in addressing their gambling-related problems, has expanded its reach to Slovakia through a partnership with the national gambling helpline Linka pomoci pre problémy s hraním.

BetBlocker has long championed the need for offering help in native languages and has launched support services in the mother tongues of immigrants in places like the United Kingdom, for example, guided by the same core principle that everyone who needs support ought to receive it. Duncan Garvie, BetBlocker’s Founder and Trustee, had this to add, commenting on the latest expansion: Cooperating with local stakeholders to help expand awareness of the help that BetBlocker offers is the single most effective approach to reaching the audience that would benefit from BetBlocker. National support organizations have an understanding of their community and how to effectively communicate support messaging that BetBlocker’s small team could not hope to achieve independently. BetBlocker has already been able to reach 250,000 registered users as of 2025, with the self-exclusion solution’s adoption continuing in 2026.

The latest partnership with the support line only highlights the charity’s strong commitment to staying at the forefront of self-exclusion options. BetBlocker has already been supporting Slovakian gamblers, and is on track to double its user uptake in Slovakia this year, the company said in a press statement. The Slovakian national self-exclusion register already had 20,000 registered people as of July 2025, and as many as 300,000 Slovakians may be engaged in illegal gambling as of August 2025, based on a report published by the Institute of Gambling Regulation in Slovakia (IPRHH).
