Hard Rock International, a major player in the global hospitality, gaming, and entertainment industry, has earned applause for its dedicated fight against human trafficking. This Monday, the company proudly announced its recognition as one of the Top Members of The Code, an honor bestowed by ECPAT International. ECPAT is a renowned organization committed to researching, advocating, and taking action to protect vulnerable children from exploitation.
Hard Rock – the first gaming company to earn a Top Member of The Code spot
Achieving the status of a Top Member of The Code is a significant milestone for HRI, marking an impressive accomplishment as the first business in the gaming sector to earn this respected accolade. This reflects HRI's unwavering commitment to combatting human trafficking. Back in 2022, Hard Rock took a stand by signing The Code, joining a diverse group of businesses united in the fight against exploitation. HRI's influence is crucial in this endeavor, especially since the gaming industry is often targeted by those who perpetrate such crimes.
A range of initiatives reaffirm the company's dedication to fighting human trafficking
Alongside celebrating this significant achievement, HRI and Seminole Gaming shared an update on their relentless fight against trafficking. One standout initiative is Hard Rock's Social Identity Quest (SIQ) Program, run in collaboration with the U.S. affiliate of ECPAT International, PACT (Protect All Children from Trafficking). This educational endeavor has reached half a million students across the United States and into Mexico. Recently, Hard Rock rolled out three new SIQ programs tailored to various age groups, and they even introduced a Spanish-language version. So far in 2025, HRI has donated $100,000 to PACT through its inspiring Change for Change initiative, empowering casino guests to contribute to the Hard Rock Heals Foundation, which is dedicated to eradicating human trafficking. Demonstrating unwavering commitment, Hard Rock has also focused on extensive team member training. This year alone, they have completed 65,000 training sessions at their hotels and casinos. Stephanie Piimauna, HRI’s Senior Vice President of People and Inclusion, expressed heartfelt enthusiasm about the recent recognition. Everyone at Hard Rock International is deeply honored to be acknowledged by ECPAT International and The Code for our efforts against human trafficking, she said. She further emphasized: Human trafficking is a critical issue needing continuous action from all industry leaders. While we're proud of our achievements, it's a call to keep pushing forward in protecting vulnerable individuals worldwide.
