A temporary casino is expected to open later this year
The new world-class mixed-use resort in Petersburg is anticipated to significantly stimulate the local economy. Live! Casino & Hotel Virginia is part of a project valued at an astounding $1.4 billion, expected to create thousands of jobs and generate hundreds of millions in tax revenue and economic benefits throughout and after construction. Live! Casino & Hotel plans to welcome guests in 2027, but a temporary facility will offer a variety of gaming options in the meantime. This temporary venue will feature 75,000 square feet of gaming space, with 33 live-action table games and 900 state-of-the-art slot machines, as reported by Casino House Group News. Additionally, it will provide parking for 1,000 vehicles, along with a casino bar and a quick-service restaurant. The permanent Live! Casino & Hotel will boast over 450,000 square feet dedicated to gaming, dining, and accommodations. Its upscale hotel will offer 200 luxurious rooms along with amenities such as a fitness center and resort-style pool. The centerpiece of The Cordish Companies' new venue will be the casino area, featuring 1,600 cutting-edge slot machines. Further offerings include a sportsbook, 65 live-action table games, and a poker room with 22 tables. To ensure a world-class gaming experience, the permanent location will provide high-limit slot machines and table game areas. Additional amenities will include complimentary parking and nearly a dozen food, beverage, and entertainment venues.
